Vegetable Soup

Grilled Cheese with cheese from Sweetwater Cheese Factory and homemade sourdough bread. Yum!
Homemade vegetable soup! Yummier!
Freshly whipped cream!
Posted by Picasa Abbey's Apple Dumplings!

1-2 Granny Smith Apples (cored, peeled, and wedged)
Half a stick of butter
3/4 cup of light brown sugar
1 can of crescent rolls
cinnamon to taste
1/2 cup of sugar

Sprinkle each wedge with cinnamon and sugar. Wrap each wedge with a crescent roll and put into a baking dish. Melt butter in a microwave and add 1/2 cup of brown sugar, white sugar, and 1/4 cup of water to the melted butter. Cover the crescent rolls with the butter mixture and sprinkle remaining brown sugar on top. Cook at 350 until crescent rolls are golden brown.

We have had an EXCELLENT day. God has blessed us with an incredible small group which we were able to share all of the yummies above with this evening. We had a great message of hope today at church. It was really touching and meaningful. I think we as Christian often think we have lost our hope or we really do lose our hope when we are actually the only people on earth who can have true hope!

I guess I can sacrifice once in awhile, but those old fluffy biscuits, dried pork chops and pumpkin pie were a small price to pay so that your NEW friends could have HOMEMADE soup, HOMEMADE bread and HOMEMADE apple dumplings. Just to pacify myself, I had a Starbucks bold coffee tonight. Maybe it won't be long until I can get back to the top of your list of friends (sniff, sniff)!
